Meet Our Staff
Transitional Lead Pastor
Associate Pastor & Children's Pastor
God called me to full-time ministry while I was teaching 1st grade in a public school in Nashville. He confirmed that He wanted me to minister to children and families while I was on staff at Centri-Kid children's camp. God further equipped me for His calling by providing an amazing wife, Kelli, who He has also set aside for ministry. With God's help, we are striving to raise our joy-filled daughter Caroline so that she loves God and embraces Jesus. Together we seek to walk alongside Jesus as he transforms the hearts of children and their families.
Student Pastor & Facility Coordinator
I married my sweetheart Kelli in 2011. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our daughter through adoption and can’t wait until she is home. I started in ministry at EBC in January 2016 and look forward to see how God is going to move in the lives of students at EBC and in our area. My goal is to see the lives of students radically changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ and to see those students influence those around them toward Him.
I love soda (although I've tried quiting many times), spending time with my family, and watching sports. If you don't find me at church or with students, chances are I'm getting coffee or watching auto racing somewhere!
I joined the team at EBC in March 2015 as the Hispanic Lead pastor. My wife Leah and I have two children, Isaac and Briana. I am a native of Lima, Peru where I lived until I was 29 years old. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from William Carey Baptist University in 2011. I also received my Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2013. I have served in other churches in Arkansas and Mississippi as a pastor. I enjoy playing soccer, playing the guitar, games, laughing, and having a good time.
I'm a little baised about my cuisine taste since Peruvian food is considered one of the best in the world.:-) So once in a while I visit Lima Limon to remember home. It's located in Florence across from the Mall. Give me a call to go to eat there with you if you like to experience new exotic food.
Interim Minister of Worship
I have served the local church in music ministry for nearly 20 years. A native of Charleston, West Virginia, I earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Vocal Performance, Church Music, and Music Education from Alderson-Broaddus University in Philippi, West Virginia. I went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. I freelance as a professional classical soloist and am the founding conductor of Voices of the Commonwealth, a local community chorus of 75 singers. I am passionate about using my gifts to honor the Lord whatever the venue - the church, concert hall, or stage. My wife, Joy, also a singer, is a professor of voice at NKU and Xavier University. We have two children, Callie and Ben, and reside in Independence, Kentucky.
Director of SonLight Preschool
I have always had a passion for children both in church and in schools. It has been a privilege to serve children for over 30 years. Starting here at EBC has been my dream job, it is a combination of two passions: sharing the love of Jesus and early childhood education.
I have been married to Dave for 29 years and the Lord has blessed us with three children, one son-in love, one daughter-in love (I don’t do “in-laws”, love made them family…not the law) and two awesome grandsons.
I grew up at EBC and have been employed here since 1982. I am married to Mark. We have two sons, Eric married to April who have two sons, Lincoln and Crew; and Brandon married to Rachel who have a daughter, Elle, and a son, Nash. I love spending time with family, reading and traveling.
I love to eat at Pompano Joe's in Deston, Fl...I will meet you there, just let me know in advance so I can take off.
Children and Students Administrative Assistant
I have been a member of EBC for thirty-five years. I am married to Jim Carpenter and we have three sons, Jeff Tilford (Chastity), Greg Tilford (Laura) and Matt Tilford. We also have TEN grandsons – no granddaughters. I have been on staff at EBC for about thirteen years full time (supporting the Children and Student pastors). I volunteered and worked part time at EBC before accepting a full time position.
Before working at EBC, I was employed by and retired from Procter & Gamble.
I am a voracious reader and love hanging out with my friends at my favorite restaurant, El Rio Grande, on Houston Rd., in Florence. I always order the same thing - chicken and shrimp fajita!
